New homes

The Government's Regional Spatial Strategy has designated Norwich as an area of major growth. Policy NR1 intends that about 33,000 homes will be built in the Norwich area between 2001 and 2021.

At Brook Farm, the development of around 600 new homes will include about 240 affordable homes, making a significant contribution to the District’s needs in the area. We are in discussions with a number of housing associations.

We want this development to be different from the run-of-the-mill and with a distinct local character with varying housing density.

The new housing will meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and be orientated to take advantage of solar thermal heating and include water conservation measures such as water efficient taps and showers.

The existing contours and landscaping, as well as substantial additional planting, will break the development up into attractive, distinctive areas. Helped by all the facilities we are planning and seeking your input on, the architects should create a unique sense of place for the scheme.

We have designed three different layout options for the road and would welcome your views on these.
