The Development

What we are planning to build

Broadland Business Park has attracted major companies to its new, modern office and warehouse accommodation. We have planning permission to extend this northwards. It will be predominantly B8 industrial use at the south with smaller scale B1 office use to the north of Green Lane.

The local authority requires us to fund and build a new road linking Plumstead Road East with the A47 at Postwick junction. This will provide a vital route from the area around Thorpe End Garden Village and communities beyond to Broadland Business Park and the A47. It should eliminate the over-use of Green Lane South and many other connecting rural lanes. We have designed three different layout options for the road.

We want the housing development to be an imaginative, attractive scheme of around 600 homes, with local facilities, such as a community hall, play areas and convenience store. We will preserve large areas of green space – in fact this will take up around 50% of the total housing development. There will be an allocation of land for a rail halt on the Norwich to Sheringham line to serve Dussindale, Thorpe End Garden Village and the new homes.

The proposed Northern Distributor Road will pass to the east of the development.
